If I had a nickel (pardon the pun) for everytime someone said it's JUST chat, I'd be rich.
So many times people get into a chatroom and they're not sure how to take things that are said. You make friendships and you lose friendships. 9 times out of 10 you hear it's JUST chat when you are losing a friend.
I'm a firm believer that friends come into your life for a short amount of time and then they move on. Friendships that last forever are not without alot of work. Most people are too lazy and too close minded to have life long friendships. People are ever changing, therefor I believe that people come into your life when they're needed and exit when they are no longer needed. As people grow and become interested in different things, people, places or when the going gets really tough they lose friends and people who they thought would be in their lives forever.
To most people chat really is 'just chat'. For me it's so much more then that. I don't necessarily take things that people say personally until they say 'it's just chat' because it's NOT just chat. The folks in chat are really awesome people. We get together IRL, we hang out, we have parties, and yes some of us fall in love with one another.
These people from have seen my kids grow, they've seen me grow, they've helped me in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep, they've made me laugh when I didn't even want to smile, they've prayed for me and for my family when things were going rough. These people in chat cared when nobody else in the world did and if they didn't, they acted like they did. They've given advice when asked, and even when they weren't asked.
We've lost chatters, we've gained chatters, in the end it's way more then just chat. Think about the last time that you went into chat in a shit mood and came out in a better mood. Think about when you were going thru a rough time & all the bighugs you get when you go in the room. THAT makes this much more then 'just chat'.
I've lost friends because I continue to chat, in the end they weren't ever really friends. If you chose to be a part of my life, great! If you chose to walk away or condemn me because I chat and actually CARE about people with weird screen names, then you don't deserve to be in my life anyhow.
Usachatnow is definately more then JUST chat to me...it always will be.
